At Crafted Hardwoods, we challenge the status quo of timber production by upcycling low-value juvenile pulp logs—an abundant yet overlooked resource in the construction industry—into a material that boasts the properties of century-old trees while preserving the wood’s aesthetic.

Our timber posts and beams offer strength, stability and architectural appeal. Whether for exposed structures, framing, or custom design applications, they provide a responsible, high-quality solution for any build.

Aesthetic:
Our posts and beams offer two distinct finishes on alternating faces. The Backsawn face showcases the wood’s natural grain, while the Quartersawn face displays a clean, linear look. Refer to our Backsawn & Quartersawn Guide for more information on each gr

The life expectancy of timber products depends on factors such as species, environmental conditions, and maintenance. Timber posts and beams are primarily susceptible to factors like humidity, moisture, and direct sunlight, which can lead to expansion, contraction, or fading over time.

Proper coating, regular maintenance, and care are essential to extend the life of natural timber and preserve its beauty. By treating our material with the same care as traditional timber, our products will offer the same exceptional durability.

Circular Material Information:

All Crafted Hardwoods’ products are made by upcycling sustainably sourced, low-value timber resources.

By repurposing wood that would otherwise be discarded by the construction sector, we help minimise industry waste, extend the material’s lifespan, reduce the reliance on old-growth forests, and promote a circular approach to timber. This strategy conserves high-value forests and biodiversity areas, and contribute to a more resource-efficient future.

When you choose Crafted Hardwoods, you're choosing a product that’s built to last and designed to be repurposed, ensuring it contributes to sustainability long after its initial use.

But if reuse or recycling isn’t an option, our materials can still end their journey sustainably.

Like other wood-based products, our timbers can be incinerated to capture energy and CO2, or disposed of in a landfill, where they will decompose like natural wood, breaking down over time, consumed by microbial degradation.
